Paula Scher is a designer who is knows for making posters and graphic designs in her own unique way. This is one of her first designs she made for The Public theatre in 1994. She made this design to give The Public a new identity. These were some posters she made to promote The Public theatre when she first started working with them.

By looking at these posters i can see that there is a lot of detail on there and therefore to make the main information stand out she has made the main words big or bold, so that when people look at the poster the first couple of things they will see is that. These posters also give you the feeling of enjoyment and that by going and attending these shows at the theatre you will have a lot of fun as the person on the posters looks like he is really enjoying himself. On the left poster she has the phone number twice as the person who looks at the poster could easily not see the number as there is so much detail on the poster.Paula Scher says “It became a style emblematic of the city, not The Public Theatre," and if it didn't do that she also says she would've felt like she had failed.

Both these posters give you the feeling of urgency that you quickly want to go and buy the tickets for the show before it gets full. Also as you can see on the right poster it says "Epic Theater" and "A Joyous Meditation..." in bold this is to catch the readers eye and make them think that they really need this and this would be so fun if they went and attended the shows. Overall, both the designs meet the requirements of a advertisement piece as by looking at these designs it makes people want to see the show.
